Teen Volunteer Program

Fall 2023 Teen Volunteer Program

Open to teens ages 12-17.

The Cape May County Library is seeking Teen Volunteers for the Fall of 2023. For more information on how to apply, please email the Teen Department: [email protected]. Applications will be accepted until September 15th. If you submit an application after this date, you will be added to our waitlist. We will contact our waitlist in the order we received their applications if/when a spot opens up. Dates for Orientation are listed below:

  • Monday, September 25th @ 6 pm
  • Friday, September 29th @ 3 pm
Both of these orientations will take place at our Cape May Court House Branch. If you are unable to attend these dates, please contact the Teen Dept. to set up an orientation date.

Opportunities

Cape May Court House: 0 Openings: Check Back for updates! Teen Department Helper: straightens Teen Area, shelf-reads, shelves and straightens books in Teen and other areas, stickers new books, creates, hangs and takes down decorations, creates Take-n-Make kits as well as craft examples, tests upcoming escape rooms, and other projects as assigned.

Lower Township: 0 Openings Check Back for updates!

Sea Isle City: 1 Opening: Teen volunteers in Sea Isle City will do various tasks such as shelf reading or shelving, mostly in Juvenile sections. They may also do small cleaning tasks such as dusting or cleaning computers and other miscellaneous tasks as needed. Days and times: Between 3pm-8pm on Mondays or Wednesdays; Saturdays any time between 9-4:30

Upper Township: 1 Openings: We are looking for several Teen volunteers to assist us with our Children’s LEGO Club. These volunteers will need to be comfortable working with children and also have fresh ideas for LEGO challenges. Volunteers will also be expected to assist the Children’s Librarians and also clean up after the program finishes. Please contact the Teen Department directly for more details & LEGO Club dates.

Woodbine: 1 Opening: Teen Volunteers assist with a variety of library tasks, as needed, such as (but not limited to): shelving books and shelf-reading in various library collections; de-stickering new books; folding flyers; assisting in creating decorations, decorating, and removing decorations; assisting Library Staff with other everyday tasks.
